We’re Linus and Kai and we’re two 17 year old students from Boltons twin city Paderborn in Germany. Our school offers a course that allows us to have a work experience here in Bolton. There are many different placements that we can choose from. Then we go through an application process where our teachers decide who actually gets which placement. We were lucky enough to get our wish and work with Bolton FM.

Our experience took place over the time from 16th - 24th of March 2026. It was a very fun experience and we learned a lot. Right when we first arrived at the office, we were thrown straight into cold water and taken into the studio where we learned what happens in the studio and helped with that as well.

We were allowed to produce our own radio segment over our time with Bolton FM. Through this we learned how a show is planned and produced. We did not have to do that alone, as we were supported every step of the way. This segment that we produced was then aired out on Wednesday the 25th at midnight.

In general we had a great time here in Bolton. It was nice to be away from the normal day-to-day school schedule and gain experience working and living in another country. We had a great time here and would like to visit again.
