International Women's Day takes place on Sunday 8th March. It is a day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Each year, many International Women's Day events are held worldwide-global gatherings, conferences, awards, exhibitions, festivals, fun runs,corporate events,concert performances,speaking events,online digital gatherings and much more. 
We'll be celebrating International Women's Day on Monday 9th March as each show will be presented by women living or working in the borough. There will be 'No Boys Aloud'-(sic).

Once again, Bolton FM's Vicky Hawksworth is our 'station voice' for the day.

Bolton FM Breakfast will be brought to you by Lisa Forshaw who will be taking a quick break from organising the Bolton Fashion Festival which takes place on March 27th to help get you ready for the day from 7am. Mid-mornings from 9am to 11am will be presented by retired educator and businesswoman Pat Dickson while Dawn Lythgoe, Trustee of Fresh as a Daisy Bolton, will present This is Bolton from 11am until 1pm. Bolton FM's own Jayne Hilton will present Drivetime between 3pm and 6pm.

Bolton FM chairman Andrew Dickson said: "Its really important to celebrate the role women have played in the success of our town and we always get a great response from our listeners."
