There are so many events leading up to Christmas it's difficult to know where to begin.

Actually, the best place to begin would be on the events page on Bolton FM's website Boltonfm.com, that's a nice plug) but this wintry weekend sees Bolton FM at two events this Sunday-- Bolton Hospice's Hike the Pike and the Christmas Light switch-on in Bromley Cross.

Setting off from a new starting point of The Blundell Arms on Chorley Old Road, Horwich, this year's Hike the Pike's 5 mile trek takes you over the scenic rolling hills of Rivington to the Pike and back again in remembrance of loved ones who are in our thoughts at this time of year.

Adults and children will don Santa and elf outfits to make this a truly magical festive family day out in aid of Bolton Hospice.

Sunday also sees Bolton FM take part in the Christmas lights switch-on in Bromley Cross as Jayne Hilton takes the Sundae Service (4-6pm) on the road. Bromley Cross is infamous for it's fabulously festive and tall 15 foot illuminated reindeer raising thousands of pounds for Bolton Hospice.

We're also pleased to support the Bolton Lions Toy Appeal. The appeal asks people to donate new, or second-hand toys in good condition, at drop-off points across the borough. Lions volunteers collect, sort and 'sack-up' the presents which are then delivered to schools, churches and children's homes ready for the big day, for collection points visit boltonlions.org.uk.
