It's December on Saturday!

This means a number of things: a) Bolton FM start playing Christmas songs; b) I can read Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol (again) and c) I can watch "It's a Wonderful Life", my all time favourite film.

It also means that Bolton FM's roadshow team is busy out and about in Bolton.

Sunday 2nd December sees Bolton FM drop in at the home of the Kennair family in Grange Road, Bromley Cross as Jayne Hilton takes the Sundae Service (4-6pm) on the road. The Kennairs have once again decorated their home with thousands of Christmas lights and a 15 foot illuminated reindeer to raise money for Bolton Hospice. Over the past four years your generosity to this display has raised over £2.5k for Bolton Hospice. This year Rudolph is joined by a 12 foot sleigh too.

We're also pleased to support the Bolton Lions Toy Appeal. The appeal asks people to donate new, or second-hand toys in good condition, at drop-off points across the borough. Lions volunteers collect, sort and 'sack-up' the presents which are then delivered to schools, churches and children's homes ready for the big day.

The Bolton News has supported the Christmas Toy Appeal from the beginning and once again, you can bring your donated toys to our office at The Wellsprings, off Victoria Square, for other collection points visit boltonlions.org.uk.

Finally, next Thursday (Dec 6) we will be at Debenhams in the Market Place. The VIP event will showcase the season's latest trends and there will be the opportunity for customers to shop the collections throughout the store drinks and nibbles will be available in the store's restaurant and there's a special appearance from Santa who will be in the restaurant between 6-8pm. VIP PASSES can be purchased in-store at Debenhams.
