Volunteers are essential to Bolton FM - without their dedication and enthusiasm we would not be able to bring you the radio to you that we do.

We're always on the look out for people who can help out with all the things that go into the running of a busy, active local radio station - including programme assistants, journalists, producers, IT support, writers, interviewers and much more.

From young people looking for work experience to retired people looking to give something back to the community, people from all walks of life get rewarding experiences from being at Bolton FM.

You don't have to make a big commitment; you can volunteer as little or as much as you'd like. Whether you want to pop in for a few hours once every couple of weeks to produce a specialist feature, or join our busy core team of programme assistants and producers, our door is open to you. No prior experience of radio is required - just a willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to get stuck in!

Past volunteers have gone on to work with major radio companies and organisations like the BBC, Global Radio and Bauer. But you don't have to have ambitions in the media to get involved - all you need is the enthusiasm and drive to do something for your local community, no matter how big or small.

You can find more information about volunteering on our website - Boltonfm.com, and we're particularly keen to meet with people who able to volunteer during week-days.

Don't forget you can always get in touch with Bolton FM to ask about volunteering or promoting a local event by call 375 408, we'd love to hear from you.
