Public Health England are extolling the virtues of 'walking meetings' prescribing them as a prescription for chronic sedentarism in the workplace - we are sitting down too much, apparently.

You'll be familiar with 'walking meetings' if you've ever seen an episode of "The West Wing". Aristotle, Sigmund Freud and Steve Jobs were also fans of the locomotive convergence.

Bolton FM's office isn't big enough to hold a 'waking meeting' but many a meeting, discussion or an idea has been had while traversing the veranda at Ashburner Street Market.

To get you in the mood for the possibility of a 'walking meeting' here are five songs you'll hear on Bolton FM with either 'walk' or 'walking' in the title…

Walk on the Wild Side - Lou Reed

Walking on the Moon - The Police

Walk of Life - Dire Straits

Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves

Walking in Memphis - Mark Cohn

This Sunday sees Bolton Hospice's Bubble Rush take place in Queens Park at Bolton FM will be there cheering on the participants as they run, jog, skip or, you've guessed it, walk a 5K course comprising mountains of colourful bubbles!

Registration for those taking part in Bubble Rush starts at 10am with the event beginning at 11:30. The route is suitable for all ages and abilities and is also suitable for prams, pushchairs and wheelchairs.

We're also at the Bolton Sports Awards tomorrow night as Bolton recognises the biggest sporting achievements of the year in the borough, and Bolton FM's Matt Holden - host of the Midweek Sports show - will be in attendance.

So good luck to everyone taking part in Bubble Rush and to those nominated for one of the twelve awards at the Bolton Sports Awards.

Someone's asking for a meeting, I'm walking the other way quickly.

James.
